We set out on a weekend adventure to usher in my wife’s birthday week and to generally celebrate our health and good fortune.
Our first stop was Butterfly Wonderland in Scottsdale. It was fun watching the kids squirm a little bit while butterflies fluttered among the people in the garden. They were generally braver than they were the first time we took them into the exhibit, but their bravery only lasted as long as the bribe of an ice cream break was on the table.
The butterflies managed to hold still long enough for me to grab a couple of memorable shots.
Stop number two was a traveling Ripley’s Believe it or Not exhibit within the same mall area. My son is generally a blur on camera, but he managed to hold still long enough for me to grab a couple of photos of him running around and having fun.
Special shout out to my father-in-law, the talented Fred Crowden. His photo skills are top-notch, and it’s always a blessing to spend time with him.
And when he’s around, the Ryan family suddenly has more photos to put up on our walls at home. (Amazing work, Fred!)
