It was surprising to us that the infamous gum wall in Seattle was basically a few steps outside the Pike Place market. We took a wrong turn, headed down a hallway we hadn’t explored and basically bumped right into it.
I was not exactly prepared for quite how much gum was actually in use for this “art installation.” After spending the requisite 15-20 minutes in its presence, I think it might be safe to say that the term “art” is a little loose of an interpretation. Maybe a better description would be to borrow the Bob Ross turn of phrase; the gum wall is a happy accident.
Equal parts gross and fascinating, the gum wall provided for some pretty awesome texture photos that may pop up here as desktop backgrounds or the occasional placeholder photo.
